Substitute Lesson Plans for Paul Fleischer   (E7)
(These are my Emergency Plans, in case I couldn't get Lesson Plans to my desk)
*Welcome and Thank You for taking the classes.
*The bell schedule is on the wall above the whiteboard in case the little cherubs try to sneak out early.
*Roll is to be taken on the copy of the roll sheet from the Attendance Office and I will update the online attendance when I return according to the roll you have taken. (if MY Roll Binder is on the desk, PLEASE DO NOT USE IT)
*They KNOW the rules of the class (I'm not saying they'll follow them, but they might plead ignorance-don't buy it!!) They're not to put on or take off anything from the desk and no one is allowed behind it.  They'll move around the room if working in groups but if you feel a riot might ensue, don't hesitate to revoke that privilege.
*Have a great day!!  PLEASE LEAVE A DETAILED REPORT OF HOW THE DAY WAS (GOOD/BAD) AND ANY NAMES (GOOD/BAD)!!!!!!!!!!!

03/11/20 - 03/13/20

03/11/20

1 Sheltered Earth Science
+Helpful: Jackie, Karla, Jenny, Jazmin (maybe), Iraide, Osbaldo, Angela, Dulce, Shehryaar, Azhar, Nelson, Yael?
-Be aware: Kimberly, Monserrat, Karen (maybe Jazmin)

*About 20 seconds before the bell rings, please turn on the projector and the document camera. Directions on each.
*When the bell rings, say, "Today I will..." and they will read the Language Objective for the day.
*They will have 5 minutes to answer/discuss the DR. It is under the document camera.
*You can take roll during this time.
*After 5 minutes, please say, "Exchange". They will trade papers and grade each others. Ask them to read the question aloud. Ask for answers and explanations. The answer is "bacteria". The explanation would be something to do with nitrogen fixation - where bacteria living in the roots of planst or soil take in the N2 from the atmosphere and convert it to NH4. They will score each others' papers and trade back.
*PLEASE TURN OFF BOTH PROJECTOR AND DOCUMENT CAMERA!
*Their objective today is to continue working on their Carbon and Nitrogen Cycles booklet or computer project.
*They can use their standard sheet, textbooks, phones (unless you feel they are not using them appropriately) and each other to work on the project and their notes. (reflections and summaries included)
*I have discussed with them about how to behave appropriately with you and with the chrome books. The cart is sacred and honestly, I'm a little anxious about leaving them available without me here. That being said, thank you for making sure that THEY MAKE SURE all laptops are checked out and in carefully and securely. They know exactly what they should look like. Feel free to double check before anyone leaves.
*You can remind them that if they get a positive sub report, they will earn participation credit and Fleischer will be happy - a good thing; if they get a negative sub report, they will not be happy for at least 2 weeks! Really!! Also, please remind them to get ALL of their papers out of the Out Box and Escapee Box!!!
*I doubt anyone will be done but if they want to redo their low scores from previous assignments, they may. There are MANY of them who really need to take advantage of this.
*NO ONE has an excuse for not working.
*Please make sure they clean/straighten up the room before anyone is allowed to leave.

3 General Psychology
+Helpful: Everyone
-Be aware: Not really anyone (on a good day)

*When the bell rings, they will listen to the announcements for 5 minutes. After that, you can read them the Journal topic (the first yellow highlighted question). No sense putting it on the overhead for just the minute. They will write it and can answer it now or later.
*They have a standard sheet with the info on it for "Personality" and can get as much of the notes completed using the text, their phones or the class website. Only allow use of the chrome books if you feel comfortable - I haven't prepared this class as much as the Earth Science classes but this is also a much more mature/responsible class.
*The other option is for them to compile/organize/finish their notes on Developmental Psychology. Notes and the exam will be due after we return from Spring Break.
*Suggestion: They can get the lyrics (in order) for the movie they will watch after Spring Break. They will need them!!
*They really have a lot to do and no one should be off task.
*This is a great class and you shouldn't have any problems.

*After 5 minutes, please say, "Exchange". They will trade papers and grade each others. Ask them to read the question aloud. Ask for answers and explanations. The answer is "denitrifying bacteria". The explanation would be that the others release CO2 and denitrifying bacteria put N2 back into the atmosphere - which has nothing to do with CO2. They will score each others' papers and trade back.
*PLEASE TURN OFF BOTH PROJECTOR AND DOCUMENT CAMERA!
*The class is shorter today so they have the rest of the period to get as much done as possible on their C/N project. Many of them think this is about drawing or coloring; please emphasize it is about explanations of each part of the cycles.
*Please make sure they clean/straighten up the room before anyone is allowed to leave.
