Predict:
How big is the Earth compared to the Sun and
other planets? How far is the Earth from the Sun compared to
other planets?
Procedure:
Use the planet information here (info
from NASA)
to create a data table to represent a scale solar system. Once
you have the actual data for "distance from the Sun" and
"diameter", you can use the scale (1 cm = 100,000 km) to convert the NASA measurements
into a chart that we can use to measure our scale model
outside (Sun has been done for you). You will have two charts:
one with actual distances and diameters and one in cm with the
scale 1cm = 100,000km
Using chalk and the meter stick, measure the distances
and sizes of the solar system bodies outside. (we will start at
Burgess and Bellevue)

Conclusion:
•How does the data compare to your hypothesis?
•What is in between all of the matter in the solar
system?
